  2. All insurances lie! We have been told by adjusters every excuse and more than you can think of.
One of my favorites was, "I do not know how to accomplish proper installation of construction items, but we are not paying for It." this was just after they stated certain items do not get touched during the construction and then us proving they do. We asked pointed questions, just to receive a comment “we are glad to have fulfilled your loss in full" So we repeat the questions over and over to only get no answer from the adjusters and/or supervisors, all while their eyes never looking at you and never answering the questions. So we put it in writing and record all conversations. Adrian Cooksey and Mike Michalec are just a few that lied to their insured’s about phone calls also… They all do. Adrian even paid in full on several claims properly in the past, but for some reason now she does not want to. We only assume her job was threatened?

  3. I worked for State Farm for close to 10 years. I went in there as a 25 year-old, happy & looking forward to the future at State Farm. Came out of there an alcoholic, paranoid, depressed & suicidal nightmare. I could not trust others for years in or out of the workplace after working for those walking douchebags. It was like working for a cult. If you weren't part of the "gang" in the department you working for, you were ostracized & had an invisible scarlet letter attached to you. I have never worked for or with such dishonest, backstabbing psychotics in my life, nor have I worked for or with the like since my departure. Two of my former co-workers have committed suicide since the closure of the Westlake Village Service center, I wonder why.

    2. I am an employee and was an independent insurance agent before this and I can tell you honestly that State Farm is the WORST COMPANY I have ever dealt with! The first thing that sucks the most is our rates that are too high, I don't have my insurance with State Farm because I do not want to be broke! Next is the computer system...DOS from the dinosaur age...cavemen had it better than us! Maybe if Ed Rust didn't suck up so much in bonus money State Farm could afford and should spend the money on getting better computer technology and with the 20th century! The underwriters suck, as they are condescending to us agents, like my 10 years of experience means nothing and I am a complete idiot. State Farm also wants to know everyone's business, next they will ask for customers blood type...Like a nosey neighbor, State Farm is there! Needless to say I am looking for a new job!!!!

    3. Got that right. I have my life insurance policy with them, but not for long I'm shoppping around. I received a survey in the mail to fill out and to me they were not really related to State Farm and how I should evaluate the service and information given to me. Instead they asked too many personal questions. Like a nosey neighbor State Farm in there.

  4. StateFarm defended their client who ran into the back of my car at a considerable rate of speed. I have torn facet joints in my lower back and bulging discs. I have spent a lot (thousands) of my own money plus my insurance's money. The lady has lied and said someone hit her and forced her into my car which was a total lie. At the time of the accident, she never mentioned to me about another car hitting her. Needless to say, I had to take her to court to try to get her to pay my medical costs. Her sleezebag attorney, who really didn't care about her, was more in defense of her insurance, Statefarm. They made me out to be a criminal on the stand. They lied about everything and even said that I didn't need the money because I had a job. She had a job but it was a janitorial job and she was a single mom of two children. I was singled out as "the Man" with a good job trying to bring down a poor woman. I grew up very poor and worked hard for everything that I have. Now I have a bad back and have never really been able to do any activities with my kids. I am also stuck with a considerable amount of medical bills. The jury (I will not comment because it was in metro Atlanta GA) bought her story and basically called me the liar. Statefarm lied and facilitated her lying so that they wouldn't have to pay a verdict. I just now have to suck it up and go on with life but I will never, ever associate with StateFarm again. Sincerely, "In Pain In Georgia"

  6. hi state farm sucks i have a house that got hail damage on it. I was told over and over i should get it check out but i didn`t see anything. so one day my wife called state farm to come out and check and they did. when the adjuster came out he meet with the siding and roof guys and spent about an hour looking around my house maybe a little longer and he found storm and hail damage to my house. the adjuster told me what would happen now that he approved the claim. so i told my wife what happend and we were waiting for the check. And it never came so we called state farm and ask whats going on and they informed us there sending out an engineering company to look at my house. so we made an appointment for the engineering company to come out and look at my house. The engineering company that start farm hired came out and spent well over ten hours yes thats right well over 10 hours at my house. And guess what they didn`t find storm and hail damage but found mechanical damage. They were saying someone did the damage on purpose. Then i started thinking i want to see the report of the first adjuster who approved it and see if he seen all this mechanical damage. And if he didn`t why not? was it there? did the so called engineering company put it there? But i`ll never know because state farm said i`m not intitled to it. I was thinking thats nice the report of the adjuster who approved the claim i can never see but the report of the engineering company there passing that one out like candy. because it says what they want it to say and it should they paid for it. I was thinking i could`ve got scammed i seen it on the news. But then i was thinking scammed by who i had the state farm adjuster out here with the roof and siding guys and he found storm and hail damage and all the houses around me have it. But now we add an engineering company who got paid by state farm and i would think they still would like to get business with state farm and who spent well over ten hours at my house to come to the conclusion it`s not storm and hail damage. If they found that it was storm and hail damage how many more times would state farm use them? So you have to look at everything did it hail in my neighborhood? yes. Is mine the only house that got damage? No. Did the first start farm adjuster find storm and hail damage? Yes. Did state farms engineering company who they hired and paid i would think over one thousand dollars and who spent well over ten hours at my house find any storm and hail damage? No. So who is scamming who.

  7. In addition to all the things mentioned here that will cause a policyholder's blood to boil here's another nail in the coffin. Yesterday, I received another State Farm policyholder's mail out. A constant problem I have with State Farm. Anyway, in the past the mail outs have been simple things such as outlining what services are offered by State Farm but oh this one was so much more. It was an offer for ONSTAR FREE for 12 months! SO not only was my suspicion of "policyholders are treated differently based on WHO their State Farm agent is" it appears that State Farm in general discriminates against policyholders based on what type of vehicle they have insured! This policyholder apparently ownes a Cadillac Escalade. What about the rest of us MILLIONS of PAYING policyholders that don't have a Cadillac Escalade what did we receive for paying our premiums on time and in full??? NOTHING! I wonder how many years State Farm Insurance Company has been rewarding SOME classification of policyholders with these types of FREEBIES while the rest of us receive MAIL LABELS?

  8. I work for State Farm, they are scumbags and liars. I have been a customer for 14yrs, and an employee for 3yrs. They rip off customers and really screw thier own employees. I work for a start up agent and they are cancelling his contract after 2 1/2 yrs. Leaving him with a mountain of debt and me jobless, Merry Christmas. I had my first claim 3 months ago and was told it was not coverded originally. After much debate and threats of getting a public adjuster, they paid. There is a video on youtube that is called first year insurance agent. It is right on about the way they treat thier employees. I THOUGHT this was a great company, I was wrong!!! My loss at home and that of a job can not come close to your loss and suffering. I hope in the end they pay, pay, pay!!! This will not fix what has happened to you, BUT, its the only thing that hurts them.

  9. I currently work for State Farm. I constantly take calls from customers complaining about their insurance rates going up and usually have to "research" to find out why because most of the time there is no apparent reason. I've been told by many Underwriters to tell customers that there was an "across the board" rate increase, because the customers would not understand it if I tried to explain the real reason for their insurance going up. My boss, the State Farm Agent, is a bipolar, micromanager. He claims that he has so much to do that he doesn't have time to deal with the customers, but somehow manages to find the time to sit in front of the employees for sometimes hours to watch/listen to us deal with the customers and then critique what we say or don't say and how we handle situations. He will even get angry when we pass calls to him, because he feels as if it is beneath him to have to explain to a customer their bill or explain insurance premium increases. The employees are told to lie to customers on a regular basis. For example, I got yelled at today for telling a customer that she can use her dividends to pay her December payment on her Whole Life policy. My boss told me I should have told her that she couldn't, but it's her policy, her money and she should be able to make that choice for herself! I advised her not to, but left it up to her to choose and she chose to use her dividends to pay the payment. My Agent frequently calls his loyal customers names, he has called some of them crackheads, degenerates, idiots, liars, and crazy. That is only the tip of the iceberg with the name calling. But this is the same person who hugs and kisses the customers when they come in and act like he's their best friend. Needless to say, I am looking for another job!

It has been over 3 months now i have lost my car and broke my tibia lost my job because i couldnt get to work and the last thing state farm said to me was if you thought your car was on fire why didnt you call the fire department immediately their whole argument against my case. thus resulting in no coverage what so ever. like a good neighbor state farm will screw you.

  11. Over the Christmas holidays I found, when I received an overdraft fee, that Statefarm had continued pulling money from my acct autodraft for 2 months AFTER I canceled my insurance with them and had gone with progressive.According to them I had to have proof that I already had insurance(ridiculous) before they would consider returning the money they have stolen from me.I did that to make the process as easy as possible..guess what..I'm still having issues with them and they have not given me the 300.00 they stole from me.So I plan on showing up in their office monday :) Get the popcorn and gather round..Its going to be a show :)

  14. I worked for Snake Farm for about 1 yr, off and on, and in that time the agent that I worked for was never in the office or she was in the office but she was pilled out. After I quit and moved on to a better company, I called to have my life ins cancelled. Well I was told that they would be cancelled immediately but very rude. So this whole time I was thinking that they cancelled it and of course they didn't. I know what she said to the employee, "Just leave it and it will lapse." Well it was on draft so not it would not lapse. I called the agent and she told me that the policy was cancelled. I finally found the 800 number, so hard because they do not publicize this, and low and behold they never even knew to cancel it. I was so pissed. Once I received the refund I went to cash it and they bank teller told me that I could not cash the check that the account that the check was drawn from does not allow it to be cashed. WTF!!! How are you supposed to get the f****** money then?!?!?!?! Anyway, I cannot stand Snake Farm or at least Ronda Bayard. Maybe there are some agents that take pride in their company but she sure didn't, or should I say doesn't. Even screwed her own mother over.

HE HAS NO COMPASSION FOR 30+ YEAR EMPLOYEES AND IS A GLOWING EXAMPLE OF THE GROSS INCOMPITENCE OF STATE FARM MANAGEMENT. HE HAS FORCED PEOPLE TO SEPARATE FROM THEIR CHILDREN AND SPOUSES TO MOVE THEM TO A NEW LOCATION 18 MONTHS BEFORE THEY WERE NEEDED. SPOUSES HAD TO LEAVE BUSINESS AND OTHER PROFESSIONS. CHILDREN HAD TO CHANGE SCHOOLS IN MID-YEAR. CHARLES SMITH IS SATAN. THAT BASTARD SHOULD ROT IN HELL.

  16. I've been an agent six year. I was told certain things and the company wasnt totally honest with me about income, freedom levels, and being able to run my business the way I want to. However, my attitude is to take the high road and focus on serving and caring for my customers. Life and State Farm only suck if I let them suck the life out of me. I chose not to let them and suggest you chose the same. I love helping my clients and know that the grass isnt greener on the other side of the fence. The other side of the fence is where it really sucks.

  17. JUST SENT THEM THIS EMAIL:

Just read about your piss poor customer service towards Angela Russell. I know this isn't an isolated incident because I had a problem with your company 12 years ago after getting in a car accident as well. Needless to say we soon dropped you. At the time we only insured two cars, one of which was totaled, now my family now insures our two cars, motorcycle, and two houses with a different company.

Keep treating people this way and your company won't be one of the top dogs for very much longer.

  18. I was a State Farm customer with no major claims in 30 plus years. I made a homeowners claim and was flat out denied. The adjuster that came out and inspected my damage was rude and made it seem that we were waisting his time. They have no customer service period. I ended up dropping State Farm and my agent called me and had the nerve to be offended. I told him how horrible his customer service was and that he didn't even have the customer service to personally stop by my residence and look at the damage, even when he lived less than 1 mile from me. $15,000 dollars later of my own money, I was able to fix my home. After dropping State Farm, they had the nerve to continue to take money out of my bank account on the automatic payment program stating that my rates should have been higher and so they were entitled to $360 additional premiums AFTER I dropped them. I was able to get Wells Fargo to reverse the payment, but it took some time and now I amstisll fighting them on the premium. This insurance company is a fraud and a scam so BEWARE. They appears nice up front, but when you make a claim they have the WORST customer service you will ever experience!!!

  19. After reading about the Angela Russell ordeal with her State Farm home claim in Birmingham, AL, I'm glad I ignore all the State Farm soliciting ads I receive in the mail. I'm in Washington state and choose locally owned businesses for my banking and insurance needs - Pemco Insurance (mutual company owned by the customers) and BECU (credit union). I receive great rates and customer service. I closed my Bank of America account after it had gotten swallowed up by a national corporation, and stopped banking with Washington Mutual after Chase took over. Shop Local!

  20. This agency among State Farm as a whole is the biggest joke in the world. First of all get off your fucking high horse and do some damn work yourself! Second of all the people who work for the company such as claims reps and underwriters are fucking retards! I guess you have to be a fucking retard to be an agent or an employee of this company! Besides the piss poor service the so called agent provides, the rates are horrible. You want business but the rates are this high? Go to hell! Fuck State Farm and Brian Slack can go suck a dick!

  21. You know, when I started at Sate Farm I was a happy person looking forward to many years as a loyal employee! My first month I got a magazine from the "National Association of State Farm Agents". I started to read it from cover to cover and saw alot of negativity projected at State Farm. I though hmmm, must be ex disgruntled employees. I brought this magazine to my manager's attention and he took it from me and said it was garbage. I should have known right then and there but a year later I find out this was all true! State Farm is a very very piss poor place to work! Please stay far away from this career (if you can call it that) Very very bad company to work for and will make you insane by the end of your first year!

  22. Been with State Farm for 23 years and filed my first claim two years ago after basement flooded. Had to fight like hell to get brand new carpet replaced ( less than six mths old) and other various items. Then a few months ago hail damage hit everyone in my neighborhood. Called state farm they sent someone out and amazingly there was not enough damage to warrant a new roof. Keep in mind we are the only house.......ONLY house to not get our roof replaced. Looking for a new insurance company. Troy, Ohio

  23. I was laid-off on 2/28/11 and consider that date my liberation day. I had to take the next month just to begin recovering.

When I started, my blood pressure was normal, hadn't had an asthma attack in a few years, and I was only on 1 antidepressant. I wasn't in the best of health, but I couldn't complain.

6 years later...high blood pressure, sleep apnea, anxiety, panic attacks, traumatic stress, cannot speak...

That company took my health and my sanity. 2 years in, I lost my voice and for the rest of my time there...I finally had to go the ADA route just to get management off my back (they still made my life miserable). And do not get me started on the grade-school behavior demonstrated by employees and managers alike. If you don't play along with it, it's even worse. I loved what I did in every role that I had, but what did me in was the people - negativity and burnout all around, incompetence, young managers who had no clue how to manage people, the "not my job" game, encouraged immaturity, NO conflict resolution skills (would run to your boss without saying anything to you), HR so afraid of lawsuits or going against their buddies in management that they are ineffective, etc. The funny thing is, it wasn't Corporate that give me problems - it wasn't even my Zone - it was my OC. Everyone with whom I'd dealt in Bloomington or anywhere else never gave me problems.

Just found out today that my former TM put me down as ineligible for rehire. Good. My only concern is that they'll tell that to companies that inquire about that. I was told that they couldn't release any information other than to verify that I worked for SF, but I don't trust that.

  24. Hired by State Farm. Less than a month into my employment, was called by HR about a coworker who was a lecherous jerk. He looked at women's boobs and butts and always had a comment. He was a jerk. That being said, HR was looking for a scapegoat to lodge a complaint against him to get him fired. HR woman kept goading me to complain about him. Um, yeah, I wanted to be the new girl who caused trouble. NOT. He was an idiot, but it certainly wasn't my problem. This was at a claims office. Then I worked for an agent. NIGHTMARE. And working in claims versus working for an agent was like night and day. Agency sucks.

  25. State Farm is so ethical. I was deployed Afghanistan and one of their senior staff had a affair with my wife. So nice. I emailed Ed Rust because I had proof that the employee used company phone for contact, company discounts for my now ex-wife to use, and made comment that my ex-wife told me about "State Farm would love to get rid of me, for what they pay me they could hire 3 more". Instead of looking into this, they told him file a restraining order against me???? Guess that's what Petaeus should have done against the CIA and others. Great ethics. Read them some time. Their wonderful employee, Levy Burrough did this.

  26. Used State Farm company phone, company discounts, etc. I KNOW all about that. Section Manager in NY has done this for years. Company time, out having sex with many and spreading STDs. I don't know why State Farm does not keep track of their car and phone use. It seems State Farm can't keep some of their employees in the office. Money wasted there is unbelievable.

  28. the names of the shameless Snake Farm in the NE zone: Suzanne Fuller, Kim Kelly Thaxton, Steve Getz are the training ididots who know nothing but intimidation tactics and lies! they have threatened to fire us in our training class so many times it is disgusting. They hired some felons who were escorted out of our training class--yes the men in the suits came in and took the guy out in handcuffs!
Melissa Valentin is a know it all ---she kisses up to Matt Hodson who is called the IceMan behind his back he has had way too much Botox injections! Left his wife for a younger woman to top it off. Ed Draney is an incompetent moron his wife Jennifer Draney has pathetic numbers in her agency and he unfortunately was able to keep a job here in NY. What a tragedy! Kurt Olsen is the kiss ass of all time and a "story teller" watch your backs out there in PA. He is a true snake farm liar!
anyone that wants to read the TICA contract when they force you into signing it beware!! they don't own you and they can't force you to do a damn thing----worst company out there! they had a website for the agents to post on and took away access and they are monitoring it due to the lawsuits that have been filed hopefully the lawyers out there will see these posts and gather the names of the liars in this part of the country. NY is a hard place to work as it is and we don't need these insane liars running the asylum

  29. I am a former employee in Calif.-28 years. The first 10 years were great. Then, it got progressively harder-(Welcome to the land of micromanagement.) Then, after reorg.,in 2000, I got switched over to a juvenile, sexist, obnoxious, classless jerk of a TM, who couldn't even pass claims school and knew nothing about our jobs. He would be so sweet to your face and then he would throw you under the bus. I worked for him off/ on for 13 years. The other TM I worked for was very nice. However, once he retired, I was permanently assigned to the bad TM. It turned into HELL. The irony was-the job was cool, but the boss would harass me every chance he had-criticized everything I did at every turn. (including how I looked, how I parked, where I parked, how often I called ISC, etc., etc.) Looking back-I don't know how I survived. I had nearly perfect attendance even though I have lots of health issues. I tried everything I could to make it work.

  31. I worked for the Farm for 14 years as an auto claim rep. What a crap job. Over worked the entire time putting up some type of bullshit everyday. Had several TM's. A couple were good, the last one, Brian, was a complete company azzhole. That guy was a major azz kisser and was soley in it for himself. Thought it might be better elsewhere. Worked several years for Farmers. And for the first couple years it was. But then the same type of reorg crap started; huge management shake ups, loss of benefits, claims reps being threatened and fired for any reason. I know claim reps at several other large insurance carriers. Its the same shit everywhere. The thing I've come to realize is, they all retain the same outside consultants and buy their crap advice and programs. They use the same pay scales, work load models, you name it. Another reason they all look and smell the same is you have upper level managers who switch jobs and bring their brand of cancer with them. If you're going to get into the insurance business, find a small regional carrier. The big ones like State Farm, Farmers, etc., all suck to work for. What a regret to have stayed in the business as long as I did...
